We drink a lot of water at night and early in the morning, so we have always kept plastic water bottles on the nightstand.  Those aren’t so pretty.  A while back, I upgraded us to cute stainless steel bottles, but still, it wasn’t the greatest addition to the bedroom.  So today, to replace them all, I purchased this:

Decanter as water pitcher wooden stopper

An $8 wine decanter from Home Goods and a $1 wooden sphere from the craft store as the stopper.

wine decanter to hold water on nightstand

It should work well for us.  As long as I remember to keep it filled and keep clean glasses available.

  1. That wooden sphere is genious. Looks like it belonged on the pitcher. I like your bedside table (bedhead 🙂 table?) too.

    1. Haha, it is a bedhead table! I also realized after I posted that it’s the same as the little table I made for my office because of lack of space.

  2. I LOVE this! I need one of these beside my table…..it would make it feel like a bed and breakfast!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. Love. Much more attractive than plastic bottles. The wooden ball-stopper is genius. And I love that embroidered throw pillow, great colors and pattern.
I found an amazing art-deco coffee carafe at Goodwill for $5. I use it in a similar fashion, although, somehow it always is filled with wine, not water. Probably fine.
