The other day I picked up a BUNCH of mini cabinets for the dollhouse at Michael’s for only $1 each(!).
They had scrolly trim on the top and bottom, but I removed that, it’s not the look I’m going for this time. I think I will try to turn the first one into a desk. The third one was decapitated so I could use it as upper and lower kitchen cabinets. I wanted three of those, but they only had one left. I’ll be back…
I got 4 of the bookcases. I wanted a library so badly, but I didn’t think I’d be able to afford one. Well, it’s totally doable with these cuties for only $1 a piece. I took the doors off three of them, and I am going to attempt to make a fireplace inside one. They aren’t as tall as I wanted, so I am going to pick up some more and cut them up to add on to the tops.
Hopefully when they are taller, they will look built in and professional. Of course, everything is either going to be stained or painted, not sure which yet. I will also need books and decorative things, we’ll see how well I do at making those…
And, of course, no house (real or miniature) is complete without at least one of these:
Pretty good likeness of our buddy’s puppy days, I think. 🙂
