Electric stoves require 220 volt power to run them, which you correctly state is more effective power. But a gas stove only needs to use regular 110 volts to run the ignitors, gas regulator for the oven and the electronic console.

I absolutely need those USB ports in the kitchen. I can't tell you how many times I've had the iPhone charger draped around the mixer trying to charge it while reading a recipe or listening to music.
Love the renovations!

This is one of the reasons I can't wait until my husband and I own our own home. Way too many USB chargers and not enough plugs for *anything*. I'm glad you guys found them and it's working well!

For those of us without the ability to replace outlets, there are also power strips and surge protectors made with USB plug options.

I had heard of them, but I didn't know they were affordable and sold at home improvement stores until he brought it home.

Interesting. Our stove only uses the house electricity to ignite and run the dashboard. I'm not sure if electric stoves here run on a regular outlet or not...I try to avoid them. :)

I did not know such things excisted. Handy!
Here the stove and oven are usually not on the regular electric power but on a separate more effective power, which requires a pro, if something needs to be done to that.
