Victorian architecture it is.  I still love the Hubs’ design ideas and maybe I’ll do the mid-century modern details next year.  So, yes, I went and decided that my house (that is still has to be built in the first place) also needs to be covered in teeny-tiny, tedious molding from top to bottom. I’m going to be mad at myself.

While the unfun part of building the house is happening, I decided to put together a few rough draft mood boards to see what style I might want to decorate in.

First, a very similar style I want our real house to be: bright and simple and pretty eclectic.

Just noticed that all of these photos have high ceilings.  I so wish the dollhouse had high ceilings.

Next, you know I can’t resist super sweet and girly pastels.

I’m pretty tempted by this style because I would never be able to do it in real life.  The Hubs would die.

And lastly, something I’ve loved as long as I can remember.  An old house covered in glossy black and white.

I really can’t decide.  Though I did buy some furniture this week (BEFORE I made the mood boards—silly me) and everything would go really well in the black and white house.  Hmm…  What do you think?

  1. This is the hubs. I keep telling her it’s okay to change the style from room to room. I think the kitchen would look good with a black wall… that you can write on.

  2. They are all wonderful! But I myself am also leaning towards the last one. Very urban chic meets historic chic, classy and simple, yet ornate. 😀 Especially like the husbands idea about a wall you can write on. Perhaps chalkboard paint in the kitchen? Might have to borrow that one!
Also, loving the mood board idea! I’d never thought to do that for the mini decor (or big for that matter!). Can’t wait to see the progress.
