I’m so impressed and excited about what those of you who have joined the dollhouse contest are doing. Since the contest is just getting started, I thought I’d introduce you to a few of the participant’s houses (in no particular order):
Jazzi and her “Renovator’s Delight”
How cool is this house?! It has a second floor, sunken swimming pool.
Half of the house was inexplicably walled off when she bought it and there was no access to the several rooms except for a few too-small doorways. She has already begun her demolition and renovations and it’s now (mostly) a big, open space. Read more about it here.
Rebecca’s concept model
So, Rebecca is moving in a few days. For the contest, she hopes to make a house from scratch. But because she is in the middle of a move and can’t actually work on the dollhouse, she is building a virtual model.
You must click here to see more of her plans, the house is amazing and I want it in real life.
Audra has an adorable half-scale chantilly.
Audra is already remodeling. As you can see from the painter’s tape, this is currently a dry-fit. She has removed awkward attic space and turned it into vaulted ceilings.
And this house is half the size of the typical dollhouse, which seems way more challenging. Can’t wait to see what she does with it!
Leena’s garden
Last year, Leena made an incredible Japanese tea house from scratch. She had wanted to add a zen garden, but didn’t have the time.
This year, she gets to start and finish her garden around the house!
You can follow her progress here.
I’ve been preparing my old dollhouse for it’s addition and trying to figure out what style to remodel with. I was thinking an old urban Victorian interior, but The Hubs had an awesome mid century modern idea and now I’m torn. Maybe I’ll work up two mood boards and let you help me decide?
In the mean time, have a great weekend everyone!
onshore
I can’t wait to see what you are up to! I’m more into mid century style, but if you choose the victorian I’m sure it will be beautiful too.
Thanks for the link love.

Ah, I didn’t realize that I left out a very important word there…I meant mid century or Victorian architecture. Either way, the decor will be more modern and urban. 🙂
Jazzi
Thanks for the post Christina…Hugs J
